October Painting Challenge - Eldar

Posting this a little late but this was my completed October Painting challenge!

Loosely inspired on the House Martell from The Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones) with the orange and gold but pulled the white so I would have a contrasting color to my Bolton inspired Dark Eldar!

There is no further painting challenges this year on /r/warhammer due to Killbles being busy elsewhere but I will continue working on Eldar but at a slower pace. For the Thanksgiving holiday i'll be on a boat for that entire week so I expect I may end up painting most of it. Should be exciting and different!

Looks like I forgot to post my September Painting challenge!

Reddit Painting Challenge - September - Lord Bolton's Dark Eldar

I normally devote 3 months to a given army and this is month 3 for Dark Eldar. Though that is not to say they are completed just that their current cycle is completed (I have several more vehicles, 40 or so wyches, 20 or so warriors, and a ton of other stuff still left to touch...maybe sometime in 2014).

September Conversion challenge - Cthulhu-esque Heldrake

I'm still working on my September painting pledge but between a new promotion at work and a busy class, I've been pressed for time. I squeezed in a few hours over 3 days and completed this big nasty for the September Conversion challenge!

July Painting Challenge! Tyranids and Lord Bolton's sworn Dark Eldar

This month, I pledged to paint:
1 Homunculus
2 Venoms
10 Dark Eldar Warriors
I'll also finish up the last of my Tyranids which all only need one more highlight of green:

1 Biovore
2 Tervigons
3 Hive guard
32 Termagaunts

I finished my pledge but also got a ravager and razorwing done as well!

The Flayed man. Lord Bolton's banner from Game of Thrones. This is my first time attempting freehand and i'm quite proud of my first attempt.

First time working with green stuff. They turned alright I guess, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Any exposed skin I painted in this project (the Haemi and one of the warriors) i painted as if they were flayed. The white on his head is his exposed skull. It's a really bad picture regardless but it don't really pick it up to well unfortunately..

Tryanids! The last remaining models from my initial pledge in May and the ones I tacked on in June.

Painting Challenges

It's been awhile since i've posted but I have been busy painting! I'll do a recap of what I've done in the previous months and will start trying to update this blog with images, lists, and games more often again.

Reddit.com/r/warhammer started a monthly painting challenge in February of 2013 and I've been partaking each month. Here are my accomplishments thus far!

February - Necron flyers

May - I missed out on May due to biting off more than I could chew but will have that done soon as it got pushed back a bit with June. I will have all of it done in July though.

June - Tyranids! 

July I will finish a large wave of Tyranids and begin on a small Dark Eldar force! If you wish to get involved, you can head over to reddit's warhammer subreddit and make a pledge of your own!
